- REALM is acting as strategic advisor on a €75 million project by RJ McKinney to build the Algarve's first outlet shopping village
- Totalling 142,000 sq ft (13,200 sq m), the outlet centre will contain 81 shops plus 10 cafés/restaurants
- 1,080 car parking spaces and coach drop off points
- The retail mix will be designed to appeal to tourists (foreign and Portuguese), residents and second home owners
- The Algarve Fashion Outlet is ideally located in the centre of the Algarve. It has excellent accessibility from the A22 motorway and has the ability to capture customers from all major resorts and towns throughout the region
- Tourism is key for the project. The Algarve's busiest resorts are within 30 minutes drive from the site. Albufeira, Vilamoura, Lagos and Portimao are all within easy driving distance
- Nearly 60% of foreign visitors are from the UK, with Germany and The Netherlands accounting for nearly 20% of tourist visitors
- 3.2 million visitors stay in hotels with overnight stays totalling 18.3 million
- 2.3 million visitors stay with friends and families or in second residences. This equates to overnight stays of 14.7 million
- Over 20 million cars pass the site annually on the A22 motorway
- 5 minutes drive time from the popular family attraction, Aqualand and close to Zoo Marine
- Nike has a very successful outlet located on the retail park in Guia, 5 minutes drive to the east of the site
- Faro Airport is seeing record growth levels with 5 million passengers in 2006, up 8% on the previous year. By 2012 it is predicted this will rise to 6 million passengers per annum
- A new airport is planned in Portimao, 10 minutes drive from the site
