Rochdale Riverside is a 200,000 sq ft retail and lesiure development that will create the prime retail core in the heart of
Rochdale town centre. Adjacent to the new Metrolink station, Council
offices and Transport Interchange, the building completes the town centre
regeneration and offers accomodation over three floors.
Currently under construction, Rochdale Riverside is scheduled to open in the summer of 2020 and as an £80m development it is part of a wider £400m regeneration of the town
centre. Associated projects have included a new transport interchange and town
centre Metrolink stop, the re-opening of the River Roch, and the
creation of a new leisure centre and sixth form college.
As a new mixed use development incorporating both M&S and Next department stores, retail and leisure units, a 6 screen reel cinema and adjoining car park, it will be surrounded by attractive public realm and seeking to increase dwell time and comparison goods spend.
CACI research has revealed Rochdale Riverside will elevate the town's Retail Footprint score increasing it by 45% to 793.
The increase in the quality and quantity of retail, catering and leisure results in a step change Rochdale's classificaiton improving it from a Small Metropolitan Town to a Medium Metropolitan Town.
Rochdale’s strengthened offer results in the town’s Residential Comparison Goods market potential increasing to £233.4m; up 81% vs. its current market potential.
