Spring deals a magnificent seven for Clarks Village

New names trade strongly at key Somerset outlet.

Clarks Village, the UK’s first ever outlet centre, near Glastonbury, has seen a raft of deals this Spring with new signings across the fashion, beauty, footwear and accessories categories. The centre welcomed seven outlet stores from Hobbs, Molton Brown, Skechers, Suit Direct, Saltrock, Red 5 and The Beauty Outlet.

The string of signings have all been completed by Realm’s in-house leasing team and the combined total of 14,000 sq ft of new occupiers represents 7% of the overall footprint of the scheme.

Most of the openings were timed to coincide with Easter holiday trading and the centre’s largest TV and outdoor advertising burst to date. The Spring campaign reached over 7 million people and footfall and turnover has responded very positively with sales up by 10% and spend per head up by 7.5% as shoppers have clearly enjoyed the broader offering with the addition of desirable names from the high street.

Speaking of the impact of the new stores, Christine Grace, Realm’s Leasing Director commented:

“These new brands have been incredibly well received with all of them beating their opening targets and many being positively referenced in our shoppers’ latest Trip Advisor reviews. They represent a broad spread across the categories which has enhanced the completeness of the village and driven spend. The trend for occupiers to invest in better quality store environments has continued which continues to drive acceptance of outlet retailing with consistent brand standards.”
